Lucas is not the type to sit there taking notes: he loves being on the move, doing things, experimenting.
Which is good news: at Vatel, he will spend half his time with real customers in the school’s practical training facilities.

Jobs and the interactions they involve are best understood by observing and doing – and making mistakes too. So, during your first three years, you will alternate between weeks of theoretical education and weeks of experimentation in the four star superior hotel on the Vatel Switzerland campus. You will try out the jobs of those you will manage later on, and learn through interacting with real customers.
In the first year, you will discover the tasks that you will later delegate to your colleagues. In the second year, you will take your first step towards management, supervising part of the team. In the third year, you will be fully in charge of a team. We aim to give you slightly more responsibility and self-confidence, under your supervising teacher’s watchful eye and with customers’ considerate attitude.
Right from your first year, you will try out roles and situations in real-life conditions, with real customers. Each experimentation session is followed by a debrief: you will analyze the situations you faced, propose innovative solutions, apply them next time round, and review your performance – a far more interesting approach!
