It is also possible for tourism professionals to gain access to the program through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme.

Vatel Switzerland’s fee structure for the 2027 academic year includes an annual registration fee of CHF 500.-, with standard tuition fees for the first year of the program set at CHF 15,900.-

Swiss citizens and permanent residents are entitled to cantonal grants (AES), which can cover up to 40% of tuition fees.

Finally, the program includes at least one mandatory paid internship in Switzerland, with a salary of CHF 2,390.- gross per month.

By train (SBB/CFF), then on foot: This is the simplest option. Martigny is a major railway hub on the Geneva–Brig line. Once you arrive at Martigny station, the school is about a 10-minute walk away, or 3 minutes by bus or taxi.

By car: Martigny is located at the intersection of the Great St. Bernard and Simplon Passes. Via the A9 motorway, take exit 21 (Martigny-Fully). The school and the hotel have a large free parking area for visitors and students.

By taxi: Taxis are available directly outside Martigny train station. The journey to the campus is very short (approximately 1.5 km).

By plane: The nearest airports are Sion (20 minutes), for private flights only, or Geneva International Airport (Geneva-Cointrin) (1 hour 30 minutes), which offers direct train connections to Martigny every 30 minutes.

Vatel Switzerland – Ecole Hôtelière du Valais offers an intercampus exchange program that allows students to complete their second year at one of the 55 campuses in the Vatel network, located in 30 countries. You remain connected to your home campus while attending another campus. 

Vatel Switzerland – Ecole Hôtelière du Valais supports each student in their search for an internship through a network of partners in Switzerland and abroad. While we cannot guarantee placement with a specific hotel group, we make sure to offer opportunities that align with each student’s career plans, profile, and goals.

In the first year, the internship is designed to familiarize you with the realities of the workplace. It takes place in Switzerland, in operational roles such as reception and front-of-house service. In your second year, the internship is designed to help you practice your English and must be completed abroad. But don’t worry, in both your first and second years, you won’t have to search for an internship yourself; Vatel has an extensive professional network that will enable us to place you in a 3 to 5-star hotel.

All you have to do is let the academic affairs office know your preferences. Good to know: Many hotels provide room and board for the duration of the internship.

For 2026, the stipend for interns at hotel schools recognized by the Swiss Confederation and the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNT) is CHF 2,390.- gross per month.

All Internship are of a length 4 to 6 months and you will have to complete one internship per year.

For the 2027–2028 intake, Vatel Switzerland charges an annual registration fee of CHF 500.-
The standard first-year tuition fees are CHF 15,900.- for the undergraduate program and CHF 16,500.- for the postgraduate program.

Swiss citizens and permanent residents are entitled to cantonal grants (AES), which can cover up to 40% of tuition fees.

The four-star Superior Vatel Hotel, with its 51 rooms, provides an authentic professional environment where students can develop their skills through hands-on experience. The facilities include a restaurant, a training kitchen, a pastry lab, and a conference center with rooms that can accommodate up to 350 people, giving students valuable hands-on experience in event management.

All of these facilities are located on a single campus, which also includes a cafeteria and a student residence.

Vatel Switzerland offers a comprehensive accommodation solution through its on-site student residence, located at the heart of the school and hotel complex. With approximately 60 rooms available for single or shared occupancy, the student residence lets students live just steps from their classrooms, right within the four-star Superior training hotel.

The rooms are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, and a private bathroom. The accommodation package includes cleaning and bed linen. To make daily life easier, residents have a full-board package at the campus cafeteria.

Furthermore, the proximity of Martigny city center also provides private accommodation options for students who prefer greater independence.
