After seven months of hard labor, Mr. Schenkel, F&B Director of Vatel Switzerland as well as the Vatel Switzerland students, received the first delivery of Vatel wine: a red and a white blend.
Students were able to follow and help with the harvest, choose the grape varieties, the design for the label, and be a part of the overall wine’s development from A to Z. It is within the framework of the courses “Crus des Vins” that Mr. Schenkel teaches, and where this idea stems from.
Vatel Switzerland is located in one of the most famous wine regions of Switzerland. It only seemed natural to integrate into the environment and demonstrate a practical approach to learning about different wines. The exercise was a good example and transition from theory to practice, a philosophy that Vatel is known for.
These two blends of white and red were thanks to the partnership Vatel Switzerland has with the famous Cave Fin Bec. The wines can be purchased and tasted at Vatel’s Bar and Restaurant. Students would be happy to serve you a glass and share their wine making knowledge.
