Vatel Switzerland against COVID-19 - Vatel

Vatel Switzerland against COVID-19

Like all Swiss schools, Vatel Switzerland has had to close its doors, for the safety of its students and employees, until April 30th.

Since 16 March, Vatel Switzerland has been implementing the request of the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Valais to close its doors for six weeks to combat COVID-19. During this time, there is no question of postponing academic activities, but rather implementing online courses, thanks to videoconferencing.

On Monday 24 March, the online courses were inaugurated by Mr Defalque, the school's director, with a course on hotel environment. An experience that he describes as satisfactory, although strange because giving classes without a physical audience is something totally new and unprecedented.

The hotel is closed to the public, but remains available to students who wish to stay in Martigny during the confinement. The campus is now occupied by seven students who can take full advantage of all the services such as their full board.

It should be noted that the Alumni Gala scheduled for April 25 is postponed to the second half of the year. A date will be communicated shortly.

In these difficult times, we wish all our students, employees and partners good health and a lot of courage.
