From the professionals who tell their international experiences, to the students who explain their study experience thanks to the Marco Polo Exchange program; the 2nd Edition of Vatel Switzerland’s Career Forum has again provoked vocations.

Career Forum that gives the possibility to travel

“Be motivated and mobile, career opportunities can be found on every continent for a hotelier!”

These are the words of Simon Schenk, Director of Guarda Golf in Crans Montana, who began the opening of the forum and the round table of hoteliers who came to share their international experiences. 

Clarisse Thiry, Director of Hotel California in Paris, directed her speech towards the international dynamism of her career. “In our line of business, everything is possible with various perspectives beyond the borders.”

Last but not the least, Bertrand Gross, entrepreneur and teacher at Vatel Switzerland, concluded the first conference session by recalling the versatility and diversity of the hotel industry.


Departure from Vatel- Destination to the world

After a year in participating from the Marco Polo exchange program, from Vatel Mauritius, Hugo Guidot, a 2nd year Bachelor student in International Hotel Management, stated his experience through a video conference from the islands to Martigny.

Vatel Mauritius is as international as Vatel Switzerland, only the origins of the student body are different; a plus in my journey as a young hotelier.”

Robin Beney, a 3rd year Bachelor student, shared with the public his internship experiences in Hong Kong: one in Guest experience at the Grand Hyatt and the second as a VIP Club Lounge Guest Service agent at the Ritz Carlton. “Working at the VIP Club in a hotel and a giving a “WOW” experience to the customer. In other words, making sure to have the closest possible relationship to surprise and surpass guest expectations throughout their stay.”

Lastly, Neshav Jennarain, a student from Vatel Mauritius and participating in the Marco Polo program in Martigny, came to share his experience on the Swiss campus.
